Count von Halpstein is a competent and capable ruler.  His lands are high in the Jorlinum mountains, and his peasants chief industry is in the field of mining.  The cold climate means the count stays out of sight for much of the time, and he seems to do most of his work in public during the evenings, including meetings of his court.

von Halpstein relies heavily on the Baron of Reginum, [[Viscount Gunnus Reginum]], to keep his territory running smoothly.
