Countess McConnell currenly holds the seat of the Earl of Balligar, which covers the city of Cellam, Ostbrook, and the surrounding areas. She is the only child of the previous Earl and faced some opposition to her fulfilling this role, but the backing of King James helped her assume her post. Her presence at court still fills some of the more established peers with dread, although these days it is her formidable presence that they fear.
