## page was renamed from Sebrus_Hormannus = Sebrus Hormannus = Born to a wealthy Imperial family, Sebrus was moved from the Empire to the southern stretches of [[Caldonacia]] when he was a toddler in the 1380s. His family continued to prosper in their new homes, their family business was organising trade caravans that shipped goods southwards to the Empire. During these formative years, Sebrus spent much of the time journeying around the cities and towns of the south of Caldonacia, and everywhere they went they encountered squalor and poverty. As he became older, he became more and more outraged at the conditions that the poor of southern Caldonacia were made to endure. Life was not like this in the south, in his infrequent visits back to his homeland he'd seen the way the peasants there were not mistreated and did not live on the edge of starvation. As he became a young man, Sebrus vowed to do what he could to help these downtrodden peasants. He took to the road to try and persuade the wealthier merchants that their fortunes could be better used if distributed to the poor and needy and ended their exploitation of them. They were reluctant despite the passionate speeches, and so Sebrus lost patience and his tactics changed to more violent methods. His actions turned him into an outlaw, but the poorest people of Caldonacia were glad of his help. Eventually his success was curtailed. He made a target of himself among the traders, and they eventually organised their defences better. His high profile robberies, once the subject of wonder among the peasants, began to fade into the past. A couple of high profile defeats saw him slip into the shadows and keep from the sight of the law. Recently he has resumed his work, but this time he's chosen a different target, one which takes advantage of the curious tax arrangements of [[Arthea]]. In the eighteen months leading up to summer 1412 he has attacked and stolen tax gold making its way from [[Keal]] to [[Nareth]]. This has raised his status from outlaw to fugitive, but the Caldonacian peasants have been helped once more. The Kings Guard have been seeking him with renewed vengeance; those at the top, particularly in [[Tholain]] and [[Antaurus]] (which handle most of the non-[[Ticetia]]n tax for [[Arthea]]) are reputed to be livid that anyone could get near enough to tax shipments to steal them. ---- CategoryNpc
