The Crown of Tholain
This crown was made in 922 after Tholain conquered the southern kingdoms and formed The First Empire. As Tholain was a sponsor of organisations devoted to magic, the first Emperor, Emperor Dominus, intended the crown to be something quite special, and many of the foremost wizards of the day contributed to its power.
The crown was relegated when Habbas Sundus became the third Emperor following the fall of the Tholain dynasty, and was placed into storage. The crown went missing after the fall of the first Empire, when it was in the hands of The Imperial Academy of Magic. Many rumours abound about the fate of the crown; it was said that the life of the Empire was somehow tied to the life of the Crown, and the worst of the rumours suggest that the crown was taken before the Empire ended, and that end came about because the crown had been stolen.
The importance of the crown was recognised by those who held the power in the Second Empire, and there was some effort made to find it on several occasions. The importance is considered diminished these days, as the Empire now forms part of Arthea, but King James is rumoured to have a desire for it.
