Hughlus controls the expanding mining territory to the east of the city of Evonen in Jorlinum.  He's aware of rumours of vampire activity in the mountains near the mines, and is torn between investigating too closely and uncovering huge problems for himself and ensuring that incoming workers are not frightened by these rumours.

Barrodus is a man in his sixties, and walking the tightrope between suspected evil and the perception of danger for workers is influencing his health.
