The Arthean Warriors Guild

In early 1341, the kingdoms of Ticetia and Caldonacia, and The Carrodian Empire were formally unified as a single Kingdom. Before the end of the year, King Thomas, defying the wishes of the major national warrior guilds of the three nations, sponsored a new warrior guild to reflect the unity he envisaged in his lands. The initial plan had been to bring together the three national guilds under a single banner, but getting the leaders to come to a compromise proved too difficult. There was a great deal of opposition from the guild members, particularly in Ticetia, where they believed that all national identity would be lost. King Thomas used the only alternative he could see, but this caused even bigger objections from the guilds - but then it was too late for them.

Following a shaky start caused by a boycott from the members of the National Guilds, the new guild took off. It was joined by many knights, eager to be in the same organisation as the King, but its popularity did not last very long. In 1384 when King Robert took power from King Marcus, many members left the guild following changes instigated by Robert which made the ideals of the organisation unpalatable for many of the Knights. It has remained unchanged since then, and King James continues to use it for his own purposes. The Kings Guard are encouraged to join this guild in addition to any other they have, and they provide much of the training for the Guardsmen.

The outlook of the guild is theoretically lawful neutral although in practice, some of its activities are clearly lawful evil. There have been no paladins in this group since 1384, when King Robert's influence was first felt; since then membership has been in decline, and activities have become more and more underhand.

The guild charges 100gp per year to become a member, and 175gp per year to become a fellow. It provides two levels of membership.
