Ticetia

Ticetia is one of the three kingdoms which form the nation of Arthea. It is situated to the north and west of the main island.

The Kingdom was formed in 1050 from the disparate nations of the north-west region, and was formed as a foil to the looming presence of the Empire in the south. At the time, the fortunes of the region had been transformed by diamond mining, and there was a real concern that the Empire would invade and try to seize this wealth.

For most of the first millennium following The Great Disaster, the region which became Ticetia suffered food supply problems. It was the slowest to recover from the effects of the Disaster, and it was not until the 1200s, and help from The Elves that the situation was rectified. Until then, they had been reliant upon (and hence controlled by) either The Empire or Caldonacia in turn.

Ticetia finally abolished its ruling council in 1325, and appointed a single monarch. King Hugo was initially a popular monarch; he had plenty of grudges with his neighbouring nations, and was keen to put right three hundred years of perceived injustices in the way that Ticetia had been treated over food supplies. The main focus of this anger was aimed at Caldonacia, and King Hugo began the war which finally resulted in the unification of the lands of Arthea.
