Edward is the brother of King Siegfried, and was appointed to this position by him. King James, his nephew, kept Edward in the post after his own succession, and he's proved his worth on many occasions. He has a knack for seeing through excesses of information to sift out what really matters, and James has used this to the advantage of Arthea on many occasions.
Although he's a Ticetian, he has grown fond of his adopted Caldonacia over the years, and his willingness to stand up in the court of Cellam and defend his principality has made him popular with his people too.
