Summary
The Novallum is an Imperial magic user sect, which has came together over many years. Its oldest roots date to the time of the formation of the Tholain Empire, but it has seen many mergers and alliances through good and bad times in the passing years. Once it benefited from the Imperial state sponsorship of magic sects, but has avoided this for many years.
The sect tries to focus on the wonder of magic, and it seems to prefer spells that will entertain and amaze onlookers. It seems to appeal to those who would use magic in fascinating ways rather than as a tool of warfare or destruction. Its specialist schools are Transmutation, Conjuration and Enchantment, but it also likes Abjuration and Illusion, and hence has close ties with the Sect of Master Illusionists in the former Empire.
