King Dairmot

1027 - 1102

Dairmot came to the throne of Cellam at a young age. His uncle, King Agran, had no children and Agran's younger sister, Emelanna, had died two years before Agran. Dairmot was Cellam's heir and assumed the throne.

Growing up somewhat separated from many of Cellam's traditions, he wasn't as tied to them as his predecessors. Dairmot made changes to the way that Cellam was run and improved many things. His biggest contribution came in 1056 when he commissioned a new palace for the city. The structure was intended to demonstrate the wealth of the region in the face of Imperial pomp from the south. The building stole ideas from Imperial architects and developed them in new ways. The building is still standing in modern Ticetia, and has been used as the royal palace and court for both Ticetia and Arthea.
