Prince Julian Amastus
Prince Julian Amastus is the crown prince of Amastus. His line can be traced back through the years to Emperor Dominus II, of the house of Amastus.
Julian is the closest known relative of this ancient Imperial line, and his family line was instated as prince by Lucian Carrod when he became Emperor in 1211. The subject is surrounded in legend and fable; it is a widely held belief that the reason that the Empire is now in Ticetian hands is because the true heir of Amastus has not been brought forward. It was inevitable that the Empire would fall, it is rumoured, as the house of Carrod is not the true royal house of the Empire. It would be futile, it is thought, that the Ticetian monarchs cannot be overthrown by the current Prince of Amastus, he is not of the true Imperial line of that house.
Julius, of course, lives with these rumours every day. This does not make him any less of a capable ruler; in fact it seems to have the opposite effect. Imperial subjects would not be prepared to promote him to the crown of Arthea, they'd always want someone closer to the line of Empress Eliciana. He also gets along very very well with King James, and is the King's most trusted of the crown princes of the former Imperial states.
