Everyone knows a “Vinnie”. You know the type…. comes from a broken home, father was a drunk who used to punch his wife, mother is a slag, he was beaten and otherwise abused as a child and to survive he had to make some nasty decisions. The sort of wayward youth that the do-gooders like to “save” or at least “excuse”…..
It will, however, take more than a bunch of do-gooders to save Vinnie. The only thing this youth understands is violence, aggression and intimidation.
What we can ascertain is that he first came to the authorities attention about 5 years ago when in his early teens he ran a kiddies protection racket in the rough part of Antoma. Although nothing was ever conclusively proved, there was plenty of circumstantial evidence linking Vinnie to the maiming of the then leader of his gang, the Party Animals. He seems to have learnt a lesson from that incident, as the amount of actual violence attributed to Vinnie declined, whilst the ferocity increased. As he became more widely known on the streets, he came to the attention of the Rogues guilds who started to use him as muscle on a variety of jobs. This was not just for his ability to inflict pain when necessary, but also because his reputation often avoided the need for violence itself.
Regardless of his formative years, we must deal with the immediate reality. Vinnie is an aggressive, intimidating individual who shows little concern for anyone outside his immediate companions. Whilst not inherently evil, he is most definitely not a nice man!
