King Habrig of Caldonacia 1217-1248

King Habrig was appointed to the crown of Caldonacia by agreement with the lords of Ticetia and The Empire when Caldonacia was defeated by was in 1217. Following the war, both the victors were denied to the opportunity to carve up the northern realm by the elves who had been instrumental in ending the fighting. Instead they insisted that a new king be appointed and that Caldonacia continue to exist.
Habrig Venet had been born a noble, but had rebelled against the rule of Bruan and Bruan II. He'd taken a principled stance, renounced his peerage and mustered a rebellion against his monarch. He aided the invaders when Caldonacia was attacked, and he was the natural choice for new monarch; he was indebted to his allies, and this lead to an uncomfortable few years.
Habrig quickly grew into his role, and soon turned his kingdom from a shell, a puppet of the other lands into an equal player among them. Upon his death in 1248, his nation had been restored to its full trading strength.
