The Cellamrion
Ordinary membership fee is 125gp, Fellowship membership fee is 160gp, these fees are payable yearly.
Probably the most important of the Warrior Guild groups in Ticetia, the Cellamrion was instigated by the foremost warrior guild of Cellam (Ticetia's capital). The Cellam Warriors Association had managed to survive off the right nobles of the region, they have found their unique position of close proximity to the monarchy of Ticetia, and more recently of Arthea, had allowed them an exclusive membership list. In the past they charged high fees, and gave a level of service far beyond normal guilds to attract the highest members of society. The last ten years, however, has seen a big decline. A change in the outlook of many nobles since King James came to power has been evident, and it is no longer fashionable for the very rich to become good swordsmen; now it is the fashion to employ good guards. This has inevitably had an impact on this richest of independent guilds. To ensure their own survival, they needed to start appealing to the to the middle and lower classed warriors, and so they approached another struggling guild in Cellam, the Warriors of Rhoub (named after Cellams famous river) who jumped at the opportunity to ally with a guild who, in the past, they had never competed with for members. Also, unknown to the Cellam Warriors Association, the Warriors of Rhoub would have closed down within three months because of the financial pressure they were experiencing.
It did not take long to add other guilds from all over Ticetia. In the south they added guilds from Foxford, Cayner, Dexley, and Colishall. In the north they added the following guilds|
The Society of Lanreith Warrriors. This group joined the Cellamrion at the height of its strength. There is some speculation that a sum of money changed hands, and that the joining was an attempt to gain some long term security for the group. If this was the case, then it worked, and The Society still has a lot of sway with other member guilds. This guild has never been big, and until it joined a larger grouping, its guildhouse was a two room building in Lanreiths darkest suburb. The large group has benefited them immensely, training standards have shot up, and the guild's popularity (already quite high) improved too. They moved to the centre of Lanreith during 1411, and have not looked back. The Society have just introduced a new highest level of membership, that of Master, which is for 9th level and higher warriors who have been members for over two years. The cost of this is 250gp per year.
Union of Hallow Wood Fighters. This is one of Ticetias largest local guilds outside of Cellam. When it joined the Cellamrion, it had two guild buildings in Eversham, two in Hallow, one in Ridstock, and had plans for one in Doveridge. That did not stop the expansion programme, and there are now plans for another new facility in either Barwell or Sizewell. The amount of power this guild has within the group appears to be greater than that wielded by the Cellam Warriors Association, and many warriors have joined simply because of the guild's success (despite complaints from others objecting to the expansionist policy). Few have left this guild since they joined with the Cellamrion, however, and the popularity of this guild is still growing.
Ireby League of Warriors. A member of the Cellamrion for longer than the Hallow Wood guild, the Ireby League is worried about the larger guild's influence. They know of plans for expansion in Hallow, and are concerned that they may eventually move into Ireby. Such competition could easily close down the Ireby League, as it is not a large organisation, and it already has difficulty surviving against the competition from another large guild right in the middle of the city. In an attempt to prepare itself for what it sees as the inevitable, the League has initiated its own expansion policy, and has opened a guildhouse in Deacons Bridge, even though this has thrown them into debt. The situation will not improve for several months either, until the new facility is on its feet and running smoothly. There is also talk within the guild of opening an advanced membership level, above the current two, but this is not decided yet.
Bainley Warriors Guild. This guild is an old-fashioned, one-man-owned guild, which joined the Cellamrion when it was visited by several of their members. The owner saw advantages of joining, and also may have found a useful way to keep the guild operating even when he is too old to carry on his duties. The Guild is fortunate that it has never been short of money, but joining the Cellamrion did mean a price cut for members. The Guild is a simple organisation, with no higher levels of membership. It did not even have two levels of membership until it joined the Cellamrion.
The Warriors of Rhoub. Based in the Rhoubbridge district of Cellam, this guild seems to have always had a small but loyal following. They prided themselves on the wide range of their training, and often provided sword-training services to some of the thief guilds that proliferated around this district. Several failed expansion attempts during the 1300's saw the guild suffer badly, and it ended up joining the Cellamrion to provide some stability and security for its members.
